BOYS BASKETBALL
Lence Altenor erupted for 35 points to surpass 1,000 points in his career as Austin Prep took a 71-54 win over Cathedral in the Catholic Central League. … Alex Gonzalez hit a key free throw at the end of overtime and Max Grenert tallied 23 points as Bishop Fenwick edged Archbishop Williams, 76-75.
Aidan Melton scored 28 points and Dan Gould added 10 rebounds as Monomoy cruised to a 66-23 win over Falmouth Academy in the Cape and Islands League.
Julian Llopiz finished with 20 points, leading Plymouth North to a 47-36 victory over Quincy in the Patriot Cup. … Curtis Waisgerber scored 15 points as Marshfield handled Pembroke, 64-47.
Billy Lally scored 15 points, while teammate Matt Veiga added 14 as South Shore Voke defeated South Shore Christian, 65-36, in a nonleague contest.
Charlie Griffin hit the go-ahead triple with 21 seconds left, capping off Ryan Sutliff’s 21 points as Boston Latin took a long-awaited win over Cambridge, 55-52, in the Dual County League. … Tyler Jameau’s conventional 3-point play with 4.9 seconds left gave Concord-Carlisle a 58-57 win over Weston.
Sam Ortega and Luke McFadyen had near double-doubles with 12 points and seven rebounds each, pacing Lowell Catholic (9-1) to a 66-46 Commonwealth Athletic Conference win over Northeast.
In the Northeastern Conference, Kipp Schauder notched 15 points as Marblehead (6-4) topped Winthrop, 64-43.
Patrick White erupted for a double-double, scoring 33 points while grabbing 18 boards, as Apponequet advanced to the South Coast Conference finals with a thrilling 58-56 victory over Seekonk.
Dennis Ho led a balanced attack with 18 points as Arlington (7-2) defeated Woburn, 68-48, in the Middlesex League.
Nick Tedesco scored 21 points as Chelmsford defeated Dracut, 65-58, in the Merrimack Valley Conference.
Abdulahi Aden registered 17 points while Benny Martinez had 14 points with 10 rebounds as Latin Academy (6-0) beat Fenway, 66-47, in the Boston City League. … Ramsay Checo had 26 points and Ethan Daleba added 24 as Burke defeated Brighton, 68-48.
Evan Houle had 13 points, five assists and five steals as Attleboro defeated Foxboro, 55-33, in the Hockomock League.

In South Shore League action, sophomores Grace Oliver (12 points) and Chloe Richardson (11 points) provided the offense, carrying Norwell to a 51-29 victory over East Bridgewater. … Julia Elie racked up 18 points as Rockland defeated Middleboro, 44-36.
Emily D’Ambrosio scored 27 points and Ella Damon added 11 as Dighton-Rehoboth rolled to a 61-31 win over Somerset Berkley in the South Coast Conference.
Kylie DuCharme posted a double-double with 19 points and 17 rebounds as Wilmington defeated Watertown, 42-27, in the Middlesex League.
Mersede Comtois-Pena took over the fourth quarter with eight of her 16 points, leading Greater Lowell (5-3) to a comeback, 36-34 Commonwealth Athletic Conference win over Shawsheen. … Charlotte Morey scored 15 points and Emily Cushion added 12 points as Lowell Catholic beat Innovation Academy, 60-20.
Elise Carter had 14 points and Angie Coletti chipped in with nine as Archbishop Williams defeated Cathedral, 55-42, in the first round of the Catholic Central League Cup.
Meghan Goode dropped 21 points on five 3-pointers to propel Chelmsford past Merrimack Valley Conference foe Dracut, 55-33. … Amelia Hanscom tallied 19 points for Andover in a 33-23 win over North Andover.
Amaris Mills provided the majority of Newton South’s (9-2) offense, scoring 28 points in a 37-34 Dual County League win over Wayland.
Camilla Silk had 18 points and 13 rebounds as Medfield (8-1) rolled to a 62-37 win over Ashland in the Tri-Valley League. … Katie Kissell led the way with 10 points as Westwood defeated Holliston, 48-25.
Ellery Campbell had a game-high 23 points and 12 rebounds as South Shore Tech defeated South Shore Christian, 53-39.
BOYS HOCKEY
Declan Joyce, Ryan Flaherty and Michael Mann all scored as BC High (4-4) defeated St. John’s (Shrewsbury), 3-1, in the Catholic Conference.
Riley Moulton had a hat trick to lead Chelmsford to a 5-2 win over Dracut/Tyngsboro in the Merrimack Valley Conference.
John Polito registered another hat trick and had two assists, helping to lead Abington during a 7-0 romp of East Bridgewater in the South Shore League.
CLASS NOTES
Hannah Marzo of Notre Dame (Worcester) and Eva Parson of Milford were named the MIAA Student Athlete-of-the-Month Award recipients for the work they;ve done as leaders and role models in both their schools and communities.
As a result of their selection, Marzo and Parson will receive a certificate of recognition, be recognized on the MIAA website, featured in an upcoming edition of the “Building the Future” MIAA Educational Athletics Newsletter, and will be eligible for the Harry Agganis Student-Athlete of the Year Scholarship provided on behalf of the Agganis Family.
In addition, all of the monthly award recipients will be honored during a special MIAA Awards Banquet at a future date

The Eastern Massachusetts Baseball Umpires Association is looking for candidates to join their association. All classes will be held at 7 p.m. via zoom on April 5, April 19, April 26 and May 3 with the state exam to follow at a time to be determined.
